Antibiotic prophylaxis and local bacterial monitoring in Voronezh surgical hospitals
The rise of antimicrobial resistance is an ongoing global health issue as the most commonly used antibiotics become less effective in treating and preventing infectious diseases. In surgical hospitals, antibiotic prophylaxis has become a routine standard for the prevention of surgical site infections (SSIs), one of the most common types of hospital-acquired infections. The authors’ goal is to evaluate the rationality of antibiotic prophylaxis and monitor the state of antibiotic resistance in surgical departments in hospitals in the city of Voronezh.
