Updated review of the genus Korinchia Edwards, 1919 (Diptera, Syrphidae), with the descriptions of six new species
The genus Korinchia Edwards, 1919 has been reviewed several years ago (van Steenis & Hippa 2012) describing 9 new species. The study of additional material has revealed the presence of jet more undescribed species: Korinchia brunneonigra sp. nov. (Thailand, Myanmar), K. duodentata sp. nov. (Vietnam), K. elegantissima sp. nov. (Vietnam, Myanmar), K. lutea sp. nov. (Vietnam) and K. supercilia sp. nov. (Nepal). These new species and the female of Korinchia minor are described and figured for the first time. One other species, Korinchia pilosa sp. nov. (Thailand), which was described as K. sp. 1 in van Steenis & Hippa (2012) is named and compared with similar species. The total number of Korinchia species is now 30. Additional data and intraspecific variability are presented for several other species. The newly described species are incorporated in the key provided by van Steenis & Hippa (2012).
