Revisiting Armed Conflict and Peacebuilding Strategies in Muslim Mindanao, 2000-2024: A Multi-Sectoral Analysis
In Muslim Mindanao, for the past 24 years of armed conflict resulted to massive displacement of people, where mostly affected were children, women, and elder persons, and lost lives of both combatants and non-combatants. The most conflict-affected areas in Mindanao are therefore needed to reassess and revisit existing peace-building strategies to ensure long-lasting peace and development. Hence, the ultimate objective of this study is to look for a workable compromise solution in resolving one of the longest armed conflicts in Asia. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods to examine the conflict and peace-building initiatives in Muslim Mindanao.
