GRAVIDEZ NA ADOLESCÊNCIA E SUAS COMPLICAÇÕES: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
Teenage pregnancy is a relevant issue in public health due to the physical, emotional and socioeconomic impacts it causes. This study is a literature review with the objective of analyzing the main obstetric complications and risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy, as well as the effectiveness of public policies aimed at this population. The research was conducted in the SciELO, CAPES Periodicals and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases, covering pu1blications between 2019 and 2024. Fourteen studies were selected, following inclusion criteria that prioritized articles in Portuguese, available in full and classified as original research or systematic reviews. The results indicate that.early pregnancy is associated with a higher risk of obstetric complications, such as premature birth and gestational hypertension, in addition to social challenges, such as school dropout and economic vulnerability. It is concluded that the expansion of effective public policies and sex education programs are essential to reduce the rates of teenage pregnancy and its complications.
