Computer dictionary as a pedagogical conditions for increasing the efficiency of the students` learning of English language

The article reveals the pedagogical conditions that contribute to increasing the effectiveness of English language learning by students of non-linguistic specialties with the help of a computer dictionary. The analysis of scientific, pedagogical and methodical literature allows us to conclude that the topic of the study does not provide efficiency and the necessary level of training and also does not have a systematic nature and relies on traditional language learning technologies. It is proven that one of the conditions for successful communication in a foreign language at a level accessible to students is qualitatively formed the lexical and translation language skills which are important components of language competence and the content of foreign language learning. On the basis of the analysis of the principles of building dictionaries, the concept of the organization of a computer educational English / Ukrainian - English dictionary is formed. The capabilities of the developed computer dictionary make it possible to intensify educational and independent work, to bring it to a qualitatively different level while practicing and improving not only the special skills and abilities necessary for successful mastery of a foreign language, but also the skills of independent work, searching and processing the necessary information in general The stages of formation of lexical and translation skills with the help of an educational computer dictionary are analyzed and determined, the content of these stages is revealed. The stages of working with vocabulary are characterized. which includes: familiarization. training and use of lexical units. The skill and the role of the dictionary in learning English are described. A method of creating an educational computer dictionary with open code is proposed, the educational material and functionality of which can be changed and supplemented depending on specific learning tasks. A system of exercises on the use of the dictionary is presented as a basis for the formation of lexical skills in English by students of non-linguistic specialties. The requirements for the construction of a computer educational dictionary are formulated in accordance with the requirements of educational standards for the level of language training of students of non-language majors, the stated principles of selecting lexical items and requirements for educational computer programs. Teachers are provided with a tool to create their own computer-based textbooks and dictionaries that meet their own requirements and do not require the special programming skills.
