Hemolytic-uremic syndrome associated with pregnancy
Atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome (aHUS) in 12-31% of cases is associated with pregnancy or childbirth and can determine the prognosis of both mother and child. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid in obstetric practice to thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) as one of the most severe complications of pregnancy. Despite the fact that TMA rarely develops during pregnancy (in the structure of all forms of TMA, obstetric TMA — A-TMA accounts for 8-18%), the high risk of preeclampsia, maternal and perinatal mortality, and the unfavorable "renal" prognosis associated with this pathology determine the urgency of studying this problem.
