The article presents data on the incidence of the population of the Russian Federation with the main clinical forms of pneumococcal infection, features and schedules of vaccination against it, as well as the results of a study assessing the awareness of citizens of the Arkhangelsk region about the possibility of vaccination against pneumococcal infection. A survey was conducted of 85 citizens aged 20–62 years. The data obtained indicate that the majority of respondents — 79 people (92.9 %) — did not have pneumococcal infection, 6 people (7.1 %) did. Also, relatives of 12 (14.1 %) respondents suffered pneumococcal infection, 73 (85.9 %) people were not sick. Of the respondents, more than half (69.4 %) are aware of the existence of a vaccine against pneumococcal infection. But despite this, only 19 people (22.4 %) have been vaccinated; 43 people (62.3 %) plan to get vaccinated.
