The image of the author in E. G. Vodolazkin’s novel “Chagin”: cognitive-discursive and stylistic-pragmatic aspects

The aim of the research is to substantiate the cognitive-discursive and stylistic-pragmatic characteristics of linguistic and communicative strategies used by E. G. Vodolazkin, the author of the novel “Chagin” (2022), to represent his own position and model the cognitive space of memory and oblivion. The scientific novelty of the research lies in identifying previously undescribed aspects of the cognitive-discursive and stylistic-pragmatic characteristics of linguistic and communicative strategies in E. G. Vodolazkin’s novel “Chagin”. For the first time, the mechanisms of interaction of lexico-semantic, syntactic, and onomastic means, which form the philosophical discourse of memory and oblivion, are described. Original results have been obtained, revealing the features of the functioning of syntactic organization and lexico-semantic means in the formation of a strategy of implicit authorial dialogue with the reader, based on E. G. Vodolazkin’s novel “Chagin” (2022). As a result, it was established that the image of the author is formed through a strategy of implicit representation, realized through a specific syntactic organization, onomastic markers, and intertextual allusions, jointly forming a conceptual model of memory as a “palimpsest”, in which personal and cultural experience are layered on top of each other and interact at different levels of narration.
