CLARA Review: J. Bonetto, G. Furlan, C. Previato, A.R. Ghiotto, E. Madrigali & V. Centola (eds) Scavi di Aquileia II. Aquileia fondi Cossar. 2. La domus di Tito Macro e le mura, vols. I, II and III. Rome: Edizioni Quasar 2024

The most recent volumes (II, 1–2 and 3) of the vast series dedicated to Aquileia promoted by the University of Padua and produced with the support of the Aquileia Foundation were released in 2024. They collect the fruits of fifteen years of work on the Cossar plot (an archaeological area consisting of several residential quarters dated to the Imperial Period), where repeated excavation campaigns have been undertaken since 1870. The first volume, which collected the archive documents relating to previous research (by Jacopo Bonetto and Vanessa Centola), was published in 2017. This was followed in 2018 with a volume dedicated to numismatic finds (by Andrea Stella), and in 2020 by a comprehensive treatment of cooking pottery (by Anna Riccato). We are still waiting for the long expected and promised volume on amphorae, edited by Diana Dobreva.
