AVALIAÇÃO DOS BENEFÍCIOS DOS EXERCÍCIOS PÉLVICOS E DO BIOFEEDBACK NA REABILITAÇÃO DE HOMENS COM INCONTINÊNCIA URINÁRIA: UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA.

Introduction: This article presents a systematic review investigating the effectiveness of pelvic floor exercises and biofeedback in the rehabilitation of men with urinary incontinence. Urinary incontinence can affect up to 60% of men, especially after prostate surgery and this significantly impacts the quality of life of this population. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments involving pelvic floor exercises and/or biofeedback to provide recommendations for clinical practices. Methods: The methodology involves the analysis of relevant studies in english and portuguese, based on the criteria established by PRISMA and which was directed according to the PICo acronym strategy. The bibliographic search was conducted using the Pubmed, Scielo and Lilacs databases, including articles published between 2002 and 2024. Results/Discussion: Of the 399 articles initially found, only 18 articles met the eligibility criteria. Most studies reported significant improvement in urinary incontinence symptoms with the practice of pelvic floor exercises, especially when combined with biofeedback, accelerating recovery and benefiting the psychosocial aspects of participants. Conclusion: The combination of pelvic floor exercises and biofeedback has proven to be an effective approach in the rehabilitation of male urinary incontinence, contributing to the quality of life of patients.
