The Impact of Regional Financial Development on the Urban-Rural Income Gap: A Case Study of Jiangsu Province
The social economy is currently growing rapidly. Under this trend, regional finance plays a very important role in system management, resource allocation, risk prevention, and information provision. It deepens the reform of the financial system and promotes healthy and rapid economic development. The income gap of regional residents is an urgent problem to be solved. Although the average income of urban and rural residents in Jiangsu Province is higher than the national average, the income gap between urban and rural residents is gradually expanding, and the unfairness of income distribution between urban and rural residents is slightly higher than the national average. By analyzing how the development of regional finance makes the financial development of urban and rural areas unbalanced in the banking, insurance, and securities industries, it will affect the unbalanced development of urban and rural economies between regions, and eventually have an expanding effect on the income gap between urban and rural residents.
