Ensuring the Quality of mHealth Applications in Healthcare Context: The mHealth Committee
The rapid integration of mobile health applications (mHealth) in hospitals enhances patient care and long-term health management. However, ensuring the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of these apps remains a challenge. The University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) established an mHealth Committee to address these concerns. Using stakeholder analysis, the Delphi method, and nominal group techniques, the committee developed robust guidelines for evaluating app security, clinical effectiveness, and usability. A formalized app review process, supported by a web platform, ensures quality and transparency. The committee's work promotes high standards for the safe use of digital tools in clinical care.
