Nuevas herramientas de ayuda para la producción escrita en español como L2: uso y desafíos
This article presents the results of a preliminary study on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and writing help automatic tools, and some reflections on the subject. The research was conducted with a group of 15 university students who are learners of Spanish as a Foreign Language and are pursuing master's studies in Hispanic studies in Germany. The general objective is to explore these resources to deepen their knowledge, both of their potential contributions to the teaching/learning of second languages, and of the feared threats they may pose. The specific objectives are to analyze the use, impact and usefulness of two of these tools, ChatAI and Estilector, in the real practice of writing at the university level, specifically for the writing of abstracts of the Final Degree Project. The results show that they can be empowering tools and a significant contribution to self-learning of second languages.
