MODERN DIGITAL CAPABILITIES OF EDUCATIONAL LIBRARY SYSTEMS

This article focuses on the timely topic of digitalization in educational library systems and is the result of the authors’ research in the field. It considers the current state of digitalization in the Russian Federation and argues for the necessity of integrating advanced technologies into the library systems of educational institutions. Along with a review, summary, and analysis of the current state of information services and the application of intelligent technologies, the article identifies the business processes and components of the business functions of library systems. The business processes and their information flows are described in detail. Emphasis is placed on the informational, cultural, and educational functions and trends in the digitalization of libraries’ own educational resources. The article analyzes the artificial intelligence and Big Data technologies for integration into library systems. The integration of language models into library systems is also proposed, thereby reinforcing the processes of search and research activities and improve their efficiency of their use, as language model plugins are capable of analyzing and summarizing primary sources and translating them into any language. The authors present conceptual proposals for the digitalization of educational library systems within the context of innovative development. The implementation of artificial intelligence technologies into existing library systems is suggested to develop and optimize library educational processes and adapt to new challenges associated with societal development and the formation of creative forms of access to educational resources.
