TOLERÂNCIA DE ESPÉCIES DOS GÊNEROS Spermacoce E Borreria AO HERBICIDA GLIFOSATO

The difficulty in controlling broadleaf buttonweed within agricultural systems in Brazil has become a challenge, mainly due to its high tolerance to glyphosate. Species from the Borreria and Spermacoce genera, often confused due to their similar morphology, are the subject of various studies on adaptability and control efficiency. Through a scientometric analysis, studies on the use of glyphosate on these species were investigated, aiming to identify gaps in scientific research. Articles published between 2004 and 2024 in the Web of Science, Scielo, and Scopus databases were selected, using the keywords "Borreria," "Spermacoce," and "Glyphosate." After screening, 110 relevant articles were analyzed using the Bibliometrix tool in RStudio 2024.09.1+394. The results reveal a collaborative research environment, with 431 authors and co-authors from 166 institutions, mainly from Brazil, but primarily focusing on phylogenetic studies. Among the 14 studies focused on controlling Borreria and Spermacoce species with glyphosate, Borreria latifolia, Borreria densiflora, Spermacoce latifolia, and Spermacoce verticillata showed tolerance to the herbicide at commonly applied doses, with effective control identified only for Borreria alata.
