A Philatelic Portrayal of Resuscitation Techniques and Interventions
Abstract Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a vital, life-saving skill that must be imparted to every citizen, as 80% of sudden cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital. Public awareness needs to be dissipated through all means available to motivate them to seek training and render high-quality first aid to revive victims of sudden cardiac arrest wherever it occurs. In this context, philatelic material on resuscitation can play a complementary role and inspire the community to seek training in life-saving first aid. The collection presented in this article is a compendium of philatelic issues from the world over highlighting the importance various governments assign to this major public health problem.
