Underwater Communication Using Thin Flexible Microdome-Structured PVDF Devices
We present a lightweight, flexible PVDF film transducer with microdome structures designed for underwater communication. The transducer was evaluated through frequency response analysis, acoustic signal testing, and transmission of a digital image. The transducer exhibited a consistent output across a wide frequency range, with peaks indicating efficient signal transmission. Spectrogram analysis confirmed its ability to transmit complex signals with high fidelity, supported by SSIM evaluation showing a maximum value of 0.59108 at 4 VPP. These results highlight the transducer's potential for energy-efficient, high-fidelity underwater communication.
