Day-Ahead Optimal Scheduling for a Energy Hub Operation Considering Markets for Electricity, Heat, Cooling and Gas

Energy hubs represent the matter of interest, and their optimization is crucial in the creation of a sustainable and resistant energy system. This paper presents a comprehensive day-ahead optimal scheduling model for energy hub operations, incorporating a multi-energy market framework for electricity, heat, cooling, and gas. Additionally, the model includes demand response (DR) strategies across diverse load types, filling a gap in existing research where DR is typically applied in isolation to specific loads. A unique feature of this study is the bidirectional electrical connection between an electric vehicle (EV) parking lot and the energy hub, which allows for dynamic energy exchange, further improving flexibility and energy balancing capabilities. To address the system's sensitivity to uncertain parameters, this study models the problem as a stochastic program. Three case studies are examined to assess the operational performance of the energy hub and microgrid. Results indicate that the proposed method effectively reduces operational costs within the energy hub.
