Liquid Crystal RIS Integrated with SIL Radar for NLOS Vital Sign Monitoring
This paper presents a novel liquid crystal (LC) reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) integrated with a self-injection-locked (SIL) radar system for vital sign monitoring in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) regions. The LC RIS dynamically reconfigures wavefronts using phase modulation to enable precise target localization, while the SIL radar enhances sensitivity and reduces system complexity. The LC RIS design incorporates printed dipole antennas and differential lines to facilitate effective beamforming. Experimental results validate the system's accuracy and efficiency in NLOS vital sign monitoring.
