Fall Detection Doppler Radar System Based on Time and Spatial Division

This work demonstrates a 2.45-GHz beamswitching Doppler radar system for real-time human fall detection. By utilizing Butler matrixes for beam switching, the system divides the spatial coverage to distinguish different body regions. Combined with time-sequence information, it enables the continuous tracking of human motion, providing more comprehensive data for fall detection and analysis. Experimental results validate the feasibility and reliability of the proposed system.

Abstract

This work demonstrates a 2.45-GHz beamswitching Doppler radar system for real-time human fall detection. By utilizing Butler matrixes for beam switching, the system divides the spatial coverage to distinguish different body regions. Combined with time-sequence information, it enables the continuous tracking of human motion, providing more comprehensive data for fall detection and analysis. Experimental results validate the feasibility and reliability of the proposed system.
