Experiment Setup Design for In-Vivo Microwave Spectroscopy of Galleria Mellonella Larvae
This work introduces the use of microwave dielectric spectroscopy for in-vivo quantitative and objective characterization of Galleria Mellonella larvae to assess their potential as animal models in biotoxicity and pathogenesis studies. Coaxial probe measurements are performed between 1 GHz and 26.5 GHz for control larvae and ethanol-injected larvae. An experimental setup is developed to enhance measurement repeatability. While the setup improves measurement consistency, it cannot yet detect significant differences between control larvae and ethanolinjected larvae.
