Clinical Imaging by the Microwave Mammography
We have developed a microwave imaging system that solves the inverse scattering problem by implementing an imaging sensor consisting of a highly sensitive dielectric-loaded dual-polarized horn antenna and an equipment calibration method using two phantoms. Clinical imaging of breast cancer patients was performed. Early cancer in high-density breast tissue, which is difficult to diagnose with X-ray mammography, was able to be detected.
