Research on correction of tilt aberration in atmospheric transmission of array laser

In order to effectively improve the transmission performance of high-power lasers, atmospheric turbulence tilt aberration correction can be applied to the sub beams in the spatially synthesized high-power laser system. Based on a dynamic atmospheric turbulence phase screen model, this paper analyzes the effects of different tilt aberration correction parameters and atmospheric coherence length on correction performance through simulation analysis and numerical calculation. The simulation results indicate that: (1) Under the conditions of atmospheric wind speed v=5m/s and atmospheric coherence time τ0=3.14ms, it can be concluded from the changes in spot distribution and peak light intensity that the longer the tilt aberration correction delay Δt, the worse the tilt aberration correction effect. (2) The atmospheric coherence length r0 varies within the range of 2cm to 22cm, and the tilt aberration correction delays Δt are set to 1ms, 5ms, 10ms, 20ms, and 50ms. Through the changes in the Streller ratio SR of the laser far-field and the power PIB in the bucket, it can be seen that the stronger the atmospheric turbulence, the longer the correction delay, and the smaller the SR and PIB values, that is, the worse the tilt aberration correction effect. However, as the atmospheric turbulence weakens and the correction delay decreases, the SR and PIB values can be very close to the ideal values. These results suggest that under certain atmospheric conditions, as long as the correction delay is properly controlled, only correcting the tilt aberration can significantly improve the quality of far-field laser beams.
