Modelling disturbance rejection performance of a space platform for active optics system
This paper presents a comprehensive framework for modelling disturbance rejection performance of a space platform supporting an Active Optics system. The methodology integrates rapid-prototyping of satellite topology and geometry with reduced-order models and enhance both controllability and observability of attitude and elastic dynamics. Onboard sensors and torque actuators are combined with conventional angular-velocity feedback. Rigid-body motions are stabilized dynamically via a PI flywheel loop, while high-frequency elastic deformations might be excited during operation. Finally, we evaluate the resulting performance gains afforded by three mirror-mount architectures qualitatively.
