Design of support structure for large aspect ratio reflectors with restricted complex optical paths

The structural characteristics of a rectangular spatial reflector with a size of 416mm×88mm are a large aspect ratio and a complex peripheral optical path, which severely limits the spatial layout. Therefore, there are few support options available. A three-point lateral support scheme based on kinematic positioning principle was proposed for a high flexibility bipod structure and an unconventional low stiffness backplate structure. After lightweighting, the weight of the reflector is 1.6kg, and the lightweighting rate has reached 65%. The RMS value of the deformation error of the reflector component under the action of gravity is less than λ/50. Compared with traditional solutions, the optimized solution reduces the RMS value of the gravity surface shape by 33.3% and the requirement for the flatness of the component installation surface by 36%, while hardly reducing the dynamic performance of the components. We have developed a full-size reflector component, which has been experimentally verified to be reasonable and feasible. This solution solves the problem of supporting large aspect ratio mirror structures with limited and complex optical paths.
