Influence of point defects interacting with rectilinear edge dislocation on internal friction caused by its oscillations in dissipative crystal
The paper considers edge dislocation that retains rectilinear shape when oscillating in one Peierls valley. The dislocation oscillations considered small. Presence of cluster of point defects around the dislocation taken into account. This cluster modeled by two chains of point defects located below and above the dislocation line in plane perpendicular to the dislocation slip plane. Elastic long-range coupling between point defects and dislocations due to size effect taken into account. Dissipation of oscillation energy carried out by means of radiation friction and electron drag of the dislocation. Expression for generalized susceptibility of the dislocation under given conditions obtained. Equation for determining natural frequencies of dislocation oscillations written down and formula for internal friction found. To obtain numerical result, copper crystal with aluminum and nickel impurities considered. Using parameters for this crystal, the natural frequencies found and curves of dependence of internal friction on frequency plotted.
