Peningkatan Kinerja Motor Generator Set dengan Optimasi Sistem Transmisi

Motor generator sets (gensets) are a vital solution to meet energy needs in the modern era, but they still have weaknesses in the form of energy efficiency that is still not optimal. This study aims to increase generators' coefficient of performance (CoP) by developing the transmission system. The method used is an experimental method of redesigning the transmission system by utilizing pulleys and flywheels, which will increase energy efficiency. System testing was carried out under two conditions, namely no load and load. Load variations start at 1000 watts, 1400 watts, and 2600 watts. The test results show a CoP of 3.2 for a load size of 2600 watts. Even though it does not meet the initial hypothesis, this CoP value succeeded in exceeding the results of previous research, which recorded a CoP value of 2. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the development of a more efficient transmission system has the potential to increase energy efficiency and the overall performance of motor generator sets.
