METHODS FOR ASSESSING THE DEGREE OF IMPLEMENTATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN EU COUNTRIES: EXPERIENCE IN INTEGRATING AN INCLUSIVE ECONOMY

The article explores the methodologies for assessing the degree of sustainable development implementation in European Union (EU) countries, with a particular focus on the integration of inclusive economy principles. It is determined that the active implementation of sustainable development in the EU relies on the combination of economic, social, and environmental aspects, which together ensure a more balanced and equitable society. The article highlights the use of sustainable development indices, inclusive development indices, and social indicators as key tools for monitoring progress. Additionally, the role of the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Pillar of Social Rights Strategy is emphasized, as they foster social integration, equal opportunities for all population groups, and the reduction of social and economic inequalities. Furthermore, the article analyzes the potential benefits of applying European practices to Ukraine, especially regarding policies that encourage inclusive growth and social justice. Given Ukraine’s challenges, adopting these methodologies could help enhance social integration and the development of an inclusive economy within the Ukrainian context, marking a crucial step toward the country’s sustainable development. By using European metrics, Ukraine can track its progress in achieving sustainable development more accurately, identify areas for improvement, and develop appropriate strategies. Additionally, applying inclusive development approaches can reduce social inequalities, promote equal opportunities, and support vulnerable groups, contributing to long-term economic growth and social justice. The article concludes by proposing that Ukraine can benefit from European experiences, including the use of financial instruments like the ESF, to support inclusive projects and social innovation, ultimately enhancing economic opportunities for socially vulnerable groups. These efforts could stimulate both social inclusion and broader economic development. Moreover, integrating these methodologies into Ukraine’s national policies could facilitate a more inclusive and sustainable future for the country.
