MODELING OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC STRUCTURES OF TERRITORIAL COMMUNITIES

An interactive OSM map was used to model population density in settlements. Based on this model, it is possible to optimize transportation, trade, educational, and other socio-economic networks and structures of territorial communities. Moreover, interactive online visualizations of these processes can be created. The optimal level of granulation and data analysis used for optimizing the socioeconomic structures of a large territorial system is an individual house or a multi-story building. To find the characteristics of buildings, it is necessary to use the database of the interactive online map OSM and the query language OverPass Turbo, and as building parameters (number of residents, number of apartments), real stochastic characteristics (mean value, standard deviation) should be used. Based on the data analysis, the public transport network of the city of Lviv was developed and the capacity of the stops was calculated. The visualization used data on population density, the number of people living near the stop, as well as the number of routes and stops. The authors also used OpenStreetMap to determine the need for additional school places in settlements, for example, using a population density model. Based on the conducted research, the following chain of statements can be formulated. The effectiveness of the system, particularly educational institutions, is determined by the optimal use of resources (financial, labor, economic capabilities). Managing complex systems means making (sometimes unpopular) decisions. If management is conducted through democratic methods, such decisions require reasoned explanations based on open data. The reasonableness of the explanations is ensured by the analysis of system parameters, the determination of system indicators as a whole, and the individual components. This means that the conducted research can be useful for government institutions when making decisions about optimizing the number of educational institutions or assessing the feasibility and efficiency of spending on educational services.
