Research on visible and infrared image fusion method based on wavelet transform
This paper proposes an improved wavelet transform-based method for the fusion of infrared and visible light images. The method employs a comprehensive wavelet transform model to fuse the high-frequency components of the target acquired by infrared and visible light sensors using a local energy criterion, while the low-frequency components are fused based on the maximum absolute value of coefficients. Extensive experiments and comparisons with PCA-based fusion methods demonstrate that this approach effectively integrates information from multiple sensors. The results indicate superior fusion performance, enhanced reliability, and excellent fusion metrics.
