SEMANTIC EVOLUTION OF CODIFIED LOANWORDS IN THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE OF THE 21st CENTURY

The article deals with the expansion of the semantic spectrum of foreign-language borrowings codified by the beginning of this century using the material of the modern Ukrainian language. The academic dictionaries edited by O. S. Melnychuk in 1974 and 1985 are taken as the basis. The register and interpretations from these editions are compared with the material of a number of diverse lexicographic editions published after 2000, from the «Modern Dictionary of Foreign Words» by O. I. Skopnenko and T. V. Tsymbalyuk edited by H. P. Pivtorak (2006) to the collective work «Dictionary of Modern Anglicisms» (2022).
