Patellar fragmentation following variation of medial patellar ligament splitting: Two cases

Summary Medial patellar desmotomy is one of the management strategies for upward fixation of the patella but has been associated with fragmentation of the patella. Consequently, medial patellar ligament splitting is now often considered a superior surgical technique, without reports of this complication. However, this case report documents two cases of this complication in a variation of this surgical technique.
