ASSESSMENT OF HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS' KNOWLEDGE ON QUALITY CONTROL: A CASE STUDY OF THE CLINICAL LABORATORY AT THE MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL OF CAZENGO – CUANZA NORTE PROVINCE, FROM APRIL TO SEPTEMBER 2024

This study aimed to assess the knowledge of healthcare professionals regarding quality control in the clinical laboratory of the Cazengo Municipal Hospital, Cuanza Norte-Province, during the period from April to September 2024. The analysis revealed that most participants are young, with adequate technical training and relevant experience in the field. Although many professionals have received specific training and recognize the importance of quality control (QC), practical implementation of these activities in the daily routine of the laboratory is irregular. Among the main challenges faced are work overload and lack of material resources, factors that compromise the consistent execution of quality practices. External control, for example, is rarely used, which may affect the reliability of laboratory results. Nevertheless, professionals show a positive perception of the impact of QC and highlight the need for greater institutional support. Suggestions include the importance of continuous training, better distribution of resources, encouragement of a quality culture, and process standardization. These actions are essential to strengthen the practice of quality control and ensure greater safety, accuracy, and confidence in laboratory services.
