Optimal Allocation of Energy Storage Considering Information-energy Cost with High Renewable Penetrations
Although conventional energy storage optimization has been widely researched, it focuses more on addressing the challenges posed by the high penetration of renewable energy sources (RES) through storage capacity allocation only without considering information. Furthermore, it cannot effectively balance the trade-off between energy and information costs. Therefore, this paper proposes an information-energy perspective on the optimal allocation of energy storage. Firstly, an information-energy optimal allocation method based on entropy for energy storage is proposed. Secondly, a novel cost model evaluating the interaction between information and energy is introduced, which can leverage a larger capacity cost with a smaller information cost. Furthermore, the proposed model enhances the balance between system flexibility and cost-efficiency with high renewable penetrations.
