Dynamic Economic Dispatch With Storage using ADMM
The dependency on conventional power plants increases carbon emissions and generation costs, contributing to global warming, also the consideration factor for energy solving by centralised system for single point failure and flexibility. The article consider Distributed solution for the Dynamic Economic Dispatch Problem within island microgrids, considering total cost function, ramp limits and battery constraints. The integration of battery charging and discharging to balance system demand and generation and incorporating ramp limits for practicality, proposing a dynamic economic dispatch with storage approach that uses a distributed algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers. This algorithm effectively addresses battery constraints, generator capacity limits, and ramp rate constraints, offering a comprehensive solution for dynamic economic dispatch in microgrids operating in islanded modes. The results demonstrate the reduced variable costs for generators, peak savings, decreased carbon emissions, enhanced ancillary services, and improved intermittency mitigation.
