The topology is benefited with the following features. A single switch with continuous input current and can deliver non-inverting output voltage to the load. Higher voltage gain combined with larger effectiveness index is obtained. The blocking voltage across the switch is low. Only less number of elements are used. All these combined makes the topology aspiring for fuel cell vehicle applications. In steady state converter is analyzed in continuous conduction mode (CCM). Simulation is done in MATLAB environment and verified against theoretical values. Suitability of the topology proposed is elaborated in detail for electric vehicle applications.

Abstract

Quadratic boost converter plus a D2LC structure merges to give a unprecedented topology of a buck boost converter is proposed in this article.
