An Integrated Grid Planning Approach Considering System Adequacy: A Case Study of Shanxi Province
Maintaining the reliability and adequacy of the electricity system is critical in the transition to a low-carbon economy. Ensuring a stable energy supply can meet fluctuations in load demand, facilitate a successful transition to cleaner energy sources and effectively reduce carbon emissions. In this paper, a framework for analyzing the supply and demand of generalized adequacy at multiple time scales is proposed, and a collaborative planning model considering generalized adequacy is established based on the framework. Then the resource allocation in Shanxi under the low-carbon transition scenario is calculated with the Shanxi power grid as the measurement object, and the sufficiency situation of the planning results of the Shanxi power grid is analyzed. The results show that the system adequacy can be improved in the process of realizing the low-carbon transition in Shanxi Province through the effective allocation of multiple types of flexible resources.
