Multi-objective Planning of Renewables to Optimize Hosting Capacity and Voltage Deviation Index in Distribution System with Electric Vehicles
Increasing penetration of renewable energy sources (RES) in distribution system makes it imperative to evaluate the hosting capacity (HC) of distribution system. HC is defined as the maximum amount of distributed generation (DG) that a distribution system can accommodate without effecting its reliability and voltage quality. To this end, a multi-objective stochastic framework for enhancing penetration of wind-based and solar photovoltaic DG in distribution system is presented. Further, distribution system is considered to be integrated with controllable electric vehicles (EVs). The proposed multi-objective framework considers two conflicting objectives namely maximizing HC and minimizing voltage deviation index (VDI). The weighted sum method is used to solve multi-objective formulation. The efficacy of proposed model is validated on real-life 108 Indian distribution system with different penetration of EVs. Simulation results highlight the competence of mul-objective formulation to evaluate HC.
