Performance Analysis of Meta-heuristics based Reconfiguration Models to Mitigate Complicated Shadings on Solar PV Arrays
The enhancement of solar cell efficiency is essential for large-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems. One major concern is partial shading, leading to power loss and reduced generation. Motivated by various methods available in the literature to handle partial shading issues, this study offers a comprehensive overview of various techniques, categorizing them into five groups: nature-inspired, ancient-inspired, art-inspired, trajectory-inspired, and evolutionary-inspired algorithms. Each algorithm has been evaluated in this study by comparing its performance with established PV array reconfiguration. Additionally, the merits, advantages, disadvantages, challenges, and prospects of various methods, along with future scope, have been explored.
