A Novel Quasi Z-Source DC-DC Converter with Continuous Input Current for Solar PV Applications

In contrast to traditional DC-DC converters, a novel quasi Z-source (NQZS) converter is proposed in this study, which provides higher voltage gain at a lower duty ratio and reduces the stress of voltage and current on all the elements. Since this proposed converter has one controlled switch, it is often known as a single-switch circuit. The common ground between the input and output of the proposed NQZS converter eliminates EMI issues and minimizes the impact of parasitic capacitance. As a result, the efficiency and performance of the NQZS converter are significantly enhanced. This paper discusses the operating principle, steady-state analysis, and MATLAB simulation of the NQZS converter. This paper also compares the NQZS converter with other existing converters of the same category.
