Assessment of Bus Voltage Variations in the Distribution Network using PDF Estimators
The bus voltage regulation in the distribution network limits the active power injection from connected PV system, mainly with high solar radiation. The voltage improvement via reactive power (PV inverter) in turn depends on its hosting capacity. In this study, different probability density function (PDF) estimators; Gaussian function, LCV-KDE, Gaussian kernel (MATLAB function) and B-spline are used in analysis for distribution of voltage at the buses in the network. It is shown that normal distributed Gaussian function fails to correctly estimate the voltage profile distribution. On other hand, B-spline based estimator is capable to indicate local peaks of PDF, which can be helpful to correlate the voltage variations at different buses.
