Research on the Location Planning of End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling Centers Based on Dual Objectives of Cost and Carbon Emissions
Background: With the increasing awareness of environmental protection and the rapid development of the automotive industry, the recycling and treatment of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) have become pressing environmental issues. The recycling of ELVs not only involves resource reuse but also contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions. Objective: This study aims to explore the site selection problem of ELV recycling and processing centers based on dual objectives of cost and carbon emissions, and to propose an optimized site selection model that achieves a win-win situation for environmental protection and economic benefits. Method: In this study, the NSGA-II algorithm is used to model the site selection problem of ELV recycling and processing centers. The model takes into account factors such as transportation costs, processing costs, and carbon emissions. The objective function is designed to minimize both total costs and carbon emissions, while constraints are incorporated to ensure the feasibility of practical operations. Results: The results indicate that the proposed research plan can effectively reduce the total operating costs of enterprises while minimizing carbon emissions, achieving a dual optimization of both economic and environmental objectives for the entire transportation system.
