Observer-based Cuk Converter Control Design and Analysis
An observer-based Cuk converter control, design, and analysis are discussed in this paper. This control strategy can yield better dynamic as well as robust performance. In this scheme, the observer estimates the internal states of the system. It computes the estimation error which is the difference of estimated output and actual output and uses this to adjust the estimates of internal states of the system. This observer-based scheme provides better disturbance rejection ability than PI, and PID by estimating disturbance effects on states and compensating it through state feedback. For comparison purposes, the PI and PID controllers are also simulated and analyzed. After that, a theoretical analysis is carried out. The simulations indicate that without using extra sensors better dynamic responses are achievable against parameter variations. Simulation results are in line with theoretical analysis.
