Analysis of Active and Reactive Power Coupling under Load and Renewable Variations in Transmission Networks with Storages
This paper introduces a novel approach to represent the coupling characteristics between active and reactive power, whose applicability extends to any network topology and resource configuration. The coupling characteristics are achieved by a coordinated dispatch model in conjunction with polynomial curve regression. The coordinated dispatched with the AC optimal power flow model is utilized to compute the active and reactive power flows across multi-scenarios sampled by the Monte Carlo simluation, thereby capturing the system's behavior under the variations of renewable sources and load. The polynomial curve regression analyzes massive amounts of active and reactive data and establish a universal functional model that delineates the coupling characteristics of active and reactive power. This universal function method is proved to be related to the network structural parameters in a real-world transmission system.
