Research on Offshore Wind Power Collection and High Voltage Direct Current Transmission System Topology
Offshore wind power is characterized by being clean, renewable, abundant, and highly stable. Offshore wind development gradually advances toward deeper and farther waters. This paper first compares and analyzes the technical characteristics of typical offshore wind farm collection system topologies. Then multiple high voltage direct current transmission system topologies for offshore wind are proposed, with a summary of their respective technical features. Finally, an investment cost analysis and comparison of key equipment in offshore converter stations for typical topologies are conducted. The conclusion shows that offshore stations using full-power diode rectifiers or hybrid converters offer significant technical and economic advantages. This paper provides theoretical support for developing low-cost offshore wind collection and transmission system.
