Low-Carbon Optimization for Microgrids with Electricity-CCER Trading

The paper proposes an electricity-carbon credit coupling trading mechanism designed to simplify market operations and optimize the low-carbon scheduling strategies of microgrid clusters. The model includes three types of microgrids: industrial, commercial, and residential, which participate in electricity and China Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) market trading. By constructing a two-layer model between the distribution system operator (DSO) and the microgrid clusters, this paper explores the coupling of electricity prices, carbon credit prices, and electricity quantities. The research model is divided into two-layer: the upper layer, where the DSO optimizes electricity and CCER prices to maximize its own benefits while balancing the lower layer microgrids' needs; and the lower layer, where the microgrid clusters, after meeting their own load, integrate and sell surplus electricity and CCERs to the DSO. To fairly allocate the profits within the microgrid consortium, this paper uses the Shapley value method to address the distribution issues arising from the electricity-carbon credit coupling. Case studies show that this mechanism not only effectively optimizes electricity and CCER trading and increases the benefits for both parties, but also promotes the development and maturity of the carbon market, providing new insights for future carbon trading mechanisms.
