Characterization of Flexible Region of Multisource District Heating System for the Electrical Power System
Multisource district heating systems (MS-DHSs) can provide flexibility to electrical power system (EPSs) via multiple coupling units. This paper quantifies power and energy flexibility of the MS-DHS based on the concept of flexible region (FR). An optimization-based iterative approximation method is proposed to explore the FR. Case studies illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method to characterize FRs of the MS-DHS. Impacts of the duration of flexibility and supply temperature on the MS-DHS flexibility are quantified.
