Optimal Scheduling Strategy for an Independent Island Integrated Energy System with a Renewable Power-to-Ammonia System
Power-to-Ammonia (P2A) is recognized as an effective method for scaling up renewable energy integration and providing a new solution for island development and utilization. To fully utilize island renewable resources, an optimal scheduling strategy for an independent island integrated energy system with a renewable P2A system is proposed to explore innovative P2A application scenarios. Firstly, considering the island's resource characteristics and the advantages of ammonia energy, the P2A system is added to establish an independent island integrated energy system. The P2A system is then modularized and refined to fully exploit its flexible scheduling potential. Secondly, the objective is to minimize the total operational cost of the system. The problem is solved by the commercial solver GUROBI. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through simulation examples. The results demonstrate that renewable energy is effectively consumed by the P2A system. Its flexible regulation capability further enhances the system's ability to integrate renewable energy while maintaining significant profit, thereby supporting the system's economic operation.
