Design & Implementation of Cuk Converter Based Bridgeless Rectifier
An optimum and efficient configuration for effective AC-DC power conversion is bridgeless cuk converter operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) due to its unique ability to automatically shape the input current. This paper discusses the theoretical analysis and implementation aspects of bridgeless ćuk converter. The converter is modelled using Current Injected Equivalent Circuit Approach (CIECA) to obtain transfer function and suitable compensator is designed. The control strategy is designed and realized using a low cost dsPIC33FJ12MC202 microcontroller. A cost effective method to sense the output voltage is also proposed. The results are verified and tested on 80V, 100W laboratory prototype.
