A Multi-indicator Multi-objective and Multi-scenario Evaluation Scheme of Energy Storage Applicability Based on Analytic Hierarchy Method

Energy storage systems have multiple types of medium, and their application scenarios are diverse and scattered. The evaluation of the energy storage system is a complex evaluation problem with various indicators, objectives, and scenarios. Currently, there is no objective evaluation scheme for the applicability of energy storage systems under different scenarios. This paper proposes a multi-indicator, multi-objective, and multi-scenario applicability evaluation scheme for energy storage systems using the Analytic Hierarchy Process-Entropy Weight Method. The application scenarios and requirements of energy storage were analyzed at first. Then, multiple electrochemical energy storage systems are studied, and evaluation indicators are designed based on four main hierarchies of technical, economic, environmental, and safety. The relative weights of evaluation indicators in multiple scenarios are solved by using weight judgment matrixes to obtain the comprehensive evaluation results of energy storage system applicability. Finally, a case study was conducted on semi-solid lithium-ion batteries, and the evaluation results with the highest applicability in the mobile energy storage for emergency power supply were obtained. The effectiveness and rationality of the above schemes were verified, which is of great significance for promoting the large-scale application of energy storage technology.
